Ignore list (permanent)
« on: August 22, 2013, 05:16:55 AM »
Many of our users would like to see this feature in a feature release.

As many webmasters know, women in chat are the most "bombarded" of requests , private messages (bad messages most of the time) video request, etc etc....

Preserve "women users" means keep the community free from "rude person" and give to users a good and sane chat experience.

This is the main point where we have to start thinking the feature I'm going to explain.

This feature can be considered a kind of auto moderation by the whole chat community.

Like the "buddy list" that is permanent there should be a "Ignore list" permanent too.

Actually if an user is disturbing me I can ignore him for that chat session, but next access to the chat I have to put again in ignore list the same user (and this operation is done not for one but many disturbing users) and this is very fastidious.

Next step could be that if an user is present in many (defined number) ingore list he is automaticaly banned or ignored (for a defined period).
In that way, all trolls, rude people, etc...will be moderated the whole community and not by a single moderator.

Hope this could be a hint maybe for better argumentation.

Thank for reading

Marco

Hi,
I have requested this idea very similar to the development team and I agree 100% with this and stand by this improvement. The "ignore list" needs some work. I know it would be impossible to save guests to the ignore list permanently as this would cause problems, but I know it would be possible to permanently block a registered user.

I also like the idea of self moderation and I like that if (x) users have let's say John Doe blocked by 50 chatters then that person should be either muted and or banned (for defined period). As it is impossible to moderate a site 24/7.

So I really do hope this is fixed and or improved in an upcoming release :)

Thanks Chatta for bring this up as I would have posted it again now that forums are back :)
